Optics

Built to professional standards, these binos are equipped with an array of premium optical glass and BAK4 roof prisms that together help to produce a hugely detailed, bright and contrasted image. Vanguard has used extra-low dispersion (ED) glass lens elements to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations and result in increased contrast, improved colour rendition, and sharpness without distortion across the entire field of view. Furthermore, the prism features a phase-corrected coating that reduces the appearance and interference of internal reflections.

The use of anti-reflection, fully multicoated optics and 42mm objectives maximise light transmission and low light capabilities, ensuring a bright and clear image. This, and the wide field of view helps to increase image quality and minimise the appearance of distracting hand-shake, both of which are vital for viewing at the binos high 10x power magnification.

It has an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration that’s combined with a lightweight and durable carbon composite housing that reduces weight without sacrificing strength or stability. Other aspects help with stability and ease of use including Mitsubishi rubber exterior armour that protects against bumps and impacts but also offers more grip. And, they feature a large slip-resistant centre focusing wheel that is designed to be easy to manipulate in all conditions and when wearing gloves.

They feature locking right-eye dioptric correction that allows you to view super-sharp images even if your eyesight isn't perfect, and there are diopter locks to guard against accidental adjustment that can affect your focus. To avoid eye strain, there’s a long 19mm eye relief that produces a generous eye box that improves viewing comfort. Complementing this is a 4.2mm exit pupil that is suitable for most pupils as they’ll fully dilate in low light to keep the entire scene in view without vignetting

Can I wear these with my glasses on?

Thanks to their twist-up rubber eyecups, you can comfortably use these binoculars with or without eyewear.

Can I mount these on my tripod?
