The Sony PXW-FS7 Camcorder is a flexible, semi-shoulder mounted Super 35mm XAVC camcorder capable of shooting broadcast-standard 4K images at 10 Bit 4:2:2 up to 60p. Ideal for documentary filming, the FS7 takes both E-mount and A-mount lenses, offers 4K/2K RAW and XAVC recording options, and can shoot a maximum of 180fps in Full HD with no sacrifice in bit depth.

Shoulder Mount
Unlike other affordable video cameras, the FS7 is designed to rest comfortably against your chest or shoulder. The zoom, start/stop, and assign controls are carefully located on the smart grip, and the viewfinder is perfectly offset to the left with a huge range of fore-aft adjustment.

4K Super-35 Exmor Sensor
A bigger sensor equates to better low-light sensitivity and low image noise. The Super 35 sensor inside the FS7 delivers beautiful “bokeh”, the defocused background made possible by shallow depth of field. It also features 14 stops of exposure latitude, ISO sensitivity of 2000, 4K resolution, and the Sony Exmor CMOS design for extremely fast readouts and minimised image skew.

Built-in ND Filters
A built-in Neutral Density (ND) filter wheel includes positions for Clear, 1/4 (2 Stops), 1/16 (4 Stops), and 1/64 (6 Stops). Therefore, a matte box is not needed to take advantage of shallow depth of field even in exterior day shoots.

E-Mount Flexibility
The E-mount of the FS7 allows it to take both Sony E- and A-mount lenses. It can also take Cinema and SLR lenses with a third-party adapter. So whether buying new lenses or making use of lenses you’ve already purchased, the FS7 makes it easy.

180fps High Frame Rates
The FS7 delivers a maximum of 180fps continuous shooting in Full HD. If your video plays at the cinematic 24fps, you get beautiful 7.5x Super Slow Motion, with no bit depth sacrifice, “windowing” of the sensor, crop factor, or loss in angle of view.

Convenient Telescopic Arm
The arm length can be adjusted simply by turning a knob, whilst another knob adjusts the angle. The telescoping arm can be instantly adapted to suit your physique and shooting position.

Next-Generation Memory
XQD compatibility enables read/write speeds up to 600Mb/s. With very low cost per minute compared to CFast cards, XQD memory cards provide reliability, in-camera recovery, and robust communication between the camera and the card.

Superbly Rugged
Designed to stand up to the rigors of real-world shooting, the FS7 has a rigid yet lightweight magnesium frame, and dust/water-sealed buttons, dials, and other parts. Special heat pipes whisk heat away from the electronics and into a remote heat sink, and an air duct cools the heat sink while isolating the electrical components from exposure to dust and water spray.

Luxurious Colour
Long-form projects shine with Sony's XAVC™ L (Long GOP) recording system. The superior grayscale rendition of 10-bit High Definition, and 4:2:2 colours are all available at budget-friendly data rates of 50, 35 or even 25 Mbps in HD mode. You can also record on-board 4K (4096x2160) at cinema standard 24p*, 59.94p, 50p, 29.97p, 23.98p or 25p.

Multi-Interface Shoe
The FS7 takes advantage of Sony’s flexible Multi-Interface Shoe, allowing you to use compatible Sony accessories such as microphones or LED lights.

Support for 4-Channel Audio Input & Recording
The FS7 supports 4-channel audio input, enabling the simultaneous use of an external microphone for recording ambient sounds, the built-in microphone for voice memos by the operator, and two optional UWP Series wireless microphones for voice of interviewer and interviewee. An optional XLR adapter provides additional 2 XLR inputs.
