Cinematic 4K Imagery

The Sony FR7 PTZ camera offers cinematic visuals with its 35mm full-frame Exmore R CMOS sensor. It is capable of capturing 4K footage even at high frame rates of 120fps, and an internal slow-motion function can shoot up to 240fps in Full HD. The sensor’s high sensitivity allows ISO levels to each ISO 409600 for shooting in extremely low light environments, and a 15-stop latitude prevents overblown highlights and crushes shadows.

Bolstering the sensor is the powerful BIONZ XR processor that fuels different features. S-Cinetone produces natural mid-tones for skin and adds soft colours and brilliant highlights without the need for extra colour grading. S-Log3 and S-Gamut3 gamma curves captures the full dynamic range in the sensor and retains highlight and shadow information for post production.

Unlimited Lens Potential

This PTZ camera stands out from the crowd thanks to the fact different lenses can be used with it for unlimited creative potential. The FR7 sports a Sony E-mount that can be used with high-end E-mount lenses, such as the G Master series. Whether you want to shoot with a 12mm or a 1200mm lens, the FR7 offers full creative control on set.

Mixing different lenses with the full-frame sensor on the camera can lead to beautiful results not found with other PTZ cameras. Using a lens with a large aperture can help achieve expressive bokeh and shallow depths of field in creative shots only a PTZ camera can provide. Two lens rods below the camera head allow the attachment of standard 15mm rod mountable accessories.

Effortless Creative Control

Capture cinematic moments from any angle thanks to the smooth pans, tilt and zoom operation of the FR7. With a pan angle range of -170° to +170°, and a tilt range of -30° to +195°, you can capture the scene from any position. You can also hang the FR7 upside-down and still have a tilt range of +15° to -210°. This PTZ camera can be remotely operated using the Web App, the included controller or a separately purchased RM-IP500 controller.

The new dedicated Web App can be used through a tablet or a web browser on a computer to access the camera in hard to reach locations. The app allows users to pan, tilt, zoom, focus, adjust camera settings and record footage. Those without mobile devices can use the included remote for the same functions, but it also features presets and playback functionality.

Outstanding Connectivity

For video output in any situation, the FR7 has you covered, with the back of the camera featuring an exhaustive range of connections and ports. HDMI video output can be used for real-time monitoring whilst 12G-SDI output can deliver high-quality 4K footage at 120fps over a RAW signal to an external recording device. A LAN port is particularly helpful in proving camera control, video and audio transfer, and power through a single cable.

Other external devices can be connected through other available ports. A TC IN connector receives and synchronises timecodes, an Option connector receives tally light signal, and the GENLOCK connector is perfect fort multi-camera setups. For recording straight off the camera, dual media slots allow CFexpress Type A and SDXC cards to record large amounts of data.
