How to Use The Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens:
Effortlessly Capture Fast-Paced Action
Designed for enthusiasts and professionals, the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens integrates dual HLA motors and Sigma's OS2 algorithm for rapid, precise, and near-silent autofocusing. Invaluable for fast-action scenes, this lens features a unique floating focus system with two opposing focusing groups that minimise internal movements and enhance AF for sports, wildlife, aviation, and events. The OS2 stabilisation algorithm grants users an impressive 7.5-stop advantage at 70mm and a 5.5-stop advantage at 200mm. Perfect for low-light handheld shooting, this lens also boasts 2 dedicated OS modes to help users transition from stills to video. Mode 1 suits all still photography, while Mode 2 employs Sigma's Intelligent OS for smooth panning, effective for vertical and diagonal movements, regardless of lens orientation.
Get Professional Results Throughout The Zoom Range
Crafted with precision and utilising ultra-high-performance low-dispersion glass, the 70-200mm f2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens stands out for its exceptional image quality across the entire zoom range, maintaining excellence even when shooting wide open. The lens incorporates 6 FLD, 2 SLD, and 3 aspherical glass elements to ensure superior optical performance and minimise spherical aberration, distortions and vignetting. This well-controlled performance is particularly apparent in high-contrast areas, reinforcing Sigma’s commitment to delivering uncompromised image quality.
Go Hybrid and Shoot Video
Tailored for videography, the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens minimises focus breathing to maintain a consistent angle of view during focus adjustments to produce natural-looking results. Advanced technology simulations and high-quality glass elements effectively mitigate flare and ghosting, making it ideal for shooting in highly backlit environments. Additionally, the lens's internal zoom mechanism ensures minimal weight shift during zooming, making it a practical choice for gimbal setups, enhancing stability and control during video capture.
Confidently Take Your Lens Out on Location
Conquer challenging weather conditions with the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens. This lens features a robust weather-resistant design fortified with rubber seals to fend off unwanted dust and moisture. Sigma reinforces this durable design with high-quality materials, including CFRP (carbon-fibre reinforced plastic) and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), guaranteeing a consistent performance in extreme temperatures. Whilst incredibly durable, these materials also help reduce weight and improve portability, allowing photographers to easily transport their lens from one shooting location to the next.
Enhance User Experience with Tactile Features
The Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens is the first in its series to introduce a built-in aperture control ring. This feature grants users more precision when making aperture adjustments.
