Enhanced Control
Within this series of lenses, a common theme is enhanced control of lighting and the management of the scene in front of the lens. This lens features a wide, bright and fast maximum aperture of f1.4. This is a huge and versatile aperture opening that allows this lens to excel in low light shooting conditions as well as offering enhanced control of depth of field and subject-background separation. This f1.4 aperture diaphragm has the added bonus of being made up of 9-rounded blades that help produce beautifully circular and natural bokeh.
Optical Performance
This Sigma 30mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens is built up from 9 premium optical elements arranged into 7 groups. Within these groups, Sigma has incorporated two Aspherical elements and 1 High-Refractive Index element which together with Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer coatings, significantly reduce the appearance of chromatic/spherical aberrations, and glare and ghosting. The result of this is impressively sharp, detailed and colour-rich images. This arrangement of lenses offers a 50.7° angle of view and a versatile minimum focusing distance of just 30cm.
Fast, Accurate & Reliable
Like many lenses within this Contemporary lens lineup, this Sigma 30mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens offers fast, accurate and wholly reliable autofocus performance. This system is driven by a powerful stepping AF motor that also offers near-silent operation and therefore, is well suited for both photographic and video applications.
