Expanded Sigma 16mm f1.4 AF DC DN Contemporary Lens Key Features:
Aperture Control
Fast, bright and wide-open aperture is a fundamental feature at the forefront of Sigma’s line of contemporary lenses. Offering an impressive maximum aperture of f1.4, this 16mm DC DN contemporary lens lets the light flood in for exceptional image quality in low light conditions. And, with such a versatile aperture range comes greater control over depth of field - this lens is designed for achieving naturally smooth subject-background separation. The 9-rounded blades across the aperture diaphragm enhance the natural look a step further by producing beautifully circular bokeh.
Optical Structure
The 16mm f1.4 AF DC DN Contemporary Lens is built from 16 elements in 13 groups. Within these groups, Sigma has incorporated a multitude of high-tech and high-end components. This includes three FLD glass elements, two SLD glass elements, and two moulded glass aspherical elements. Together with Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer coatings, this optical system is designed for high definition, high contrast images that are undiminished by residual chromatic/spherical aberrations, glare and ghosting.
Quick and Quiet Autofocus
Keeping the Contemporary Lens line consistent, the Sigma 16mm f1.4 DC DN contemporary lens incorporates a powerful AF stepping motor into its build for fast subject detection that is reliable. The stepping moto’s near-silent operation is particularly ideal for video recording when even the smallest sounds can disrupt the scene. By including this powerful stepping motor, this lens allows users to focus on making the most out of every shot without disturbances.
