Expanded Polaroid Color Film for SX-70 Key Features:

Polaroid Instant Colour Film

This Polaroid instant colour film is a regular camera film with the ability to develop instantly after the shutter clicks. This SX-70 colour film takes 10-15 minutes to develop in front of your eyes but needs shade for development. It delivers intricate detail of the subject in the image.

ASA 160 Film Speed

ASA or ISO number is a film’s sensitivity to light and is also known as a film speed. ASA is an American scale that is no longer widely used, instead, ISO is an international scale used commonly. ASA 160 is a slow film speed that renders fine grain structure to the image and a vivid sharpness. It requires a lot of natural light to deliver a rich texture.

Classic White Border

The 107 mm x 88 mm polaroid film has a classic white border and aesthetic square-format 79 mm x 79 mm image area. The instant development of the film ensures a glossy image that develops within 10-15 minutes after exposure.

Compatibility with Polaroid Camera

The SX-70 instant colour film is compatible with the Polaroid vintage SX-70 camera. The SX-70 film is also used by all folding-type cameras (except the 680/690 SLR models).

FAQs:

How should the polaroid film be stored?

The unexposed film should be stored in a cool and dry environment inside its original, unopened packet. The recommended storing temperature is 4-degree Celsius to 18-degree Celsius, but do not freeze the film. Before shooting, allow the film to come to room temperature. After exposure and development, the film should be kept away from high temperatures and high humidity.

How is ASA different from ISO rating?

ASA and ISO both are measurements of film speed, the only difference is that the ASA scale was created by the American Standards Association and is no longer widely used. Whereas, the ISO scale was created by the International Organization for Standardisation and is the most commonly used arithmetic-based scale. ASA 160 is the same as ISO 160, which is a slow film speed.

How can the polaroid film be scanned?

Polaroid pictures are easy to scan with either of the methods: digital camera scanning, sheetfed scanning, flatbed scanning, and app-based smartphone scanning; the last one being the most convenient one.

What is an instant film?

An instant film is a regular camera film that can develop instantly as soon as the shutter clicks. It comes in two formats – colour and black & white. It consists of special colour sensitive layers and develops using the chemicals already present in the film. A black and white film usually takes 5-10 minutes to develop, whereas a colour film takes 10-15 minutes.

What precautions are to be taken for the development of the polaroid?

For the best results, shield your instant film after being ejected from the camera, for a few minutes. A Polaroid film is sensitive to light, therefore it should be given time to develop under a shade. Do not stack the photos when they are fresh and wet. Do not shake or bend the photo.
