This includes Smart Function that facilitates fast selection and easy setting of desired camera functions via the Fx Function and setting dials. High-Speed 27-Point Autofocus System

The Pentax KP comes equipped with the high-speed SAFOX 11 phase-matching AF sensor module. It is capable of delivering reliable and responsive autofocus and features 25 cross-type focus sensors ensuring a minimum brightness level of -3EV. Autofocus accuracy and speed has been massively improved thanks to the brand new algorithm. To assist with autofocus operation the camera provides handy customisation features. This includes a choice of operation modes (focus priority, advance-speed-priority, and release-priority), and the Selected-Area Expansion function. The latter automatically refocuses on a subject when it moves away from its starting point.

Full HD Movie Recording

Users can shoot high-resolution Full HD videos featuring 1920x1080 pixels at 60i/30p frame rate in the H-264 recording format. There is an external microphone terminal that facilitates manual setting of the audio recording level as well as the capability to monitor sound pressure level. Additionally, 4K Interval Mode is available for connecting a series of 4K still images (3840 x 2160 pixels) at a fixed interval rate to form a singular video file.

Pentax Real-Time Scene Analysis System

The Pentax Real-Time Scene Analysis System is capable of accurate and efficient analyses including factors as a brightness distribution in the image field or the subject's primary colour and motion. This is possible thanks to the combination of approx. 86,000-pixel RGB light metering-sensor with the high-performance PRIME IV imaging engine. Through the inclusion of artificial intelligence technology, "Deep Learning ", into the image detection algorithm, the system is capable of assessing individual scenes with greater accuracy. It can select the most appropriate exposure level and finishing touch for specific scenes.
