Outstanding Video Performance

The S1 supports 4K 60p/50p video capture and can record with no crop factor via full-pixel readout in 30p/25p. There is no time limit for 4K 30p/25p, HDR and Full-HD recording. Users can enjoy 4:2:2 10-bit 4K 30p/25p internal video capture, V-Log featuring a software upgrade key (please note that this is sold separately), and 4K 60p/50p HDMI output.

5,760k-dot resolution Real Viewfinder

As of writing this article, the 5,760k-dot resolution Real Viewfinder incorporated into the Panasonic Lumix S1 is the largest Real Viewfinder found in that type of mirrorless-system digital camera in the world. It offers a 0.78x magnification ratio switchable to 0.7x, alternatively, 0.74x depending on what is being captured. The LVF adopts a high-precision, high-speed, OLED for a smooth 60fps/120fps (switchable) display. It also facilitates a high-contrast of 10,000:1 for spectacular visibility, high-speed responses that suffer minimum time lag (less than 0.005 seconds).

Plethora of Photographic Modes

The included photographic modes include HLG Photo Mode perfect for capturing bright lights such as glaring sunlight or starlight. This mode delivers a much wider dynamic range for photographs featuring natural contrast in light and shadows. For improved user experience, these images can be viewed on the latest Panasonic HLG-compliant 4KTV through the HDMI cable connection. Alternatively, use other HLG-compliant devices. The High Resolution Mode, on the other hand, allows for ultra-high precision photo capture. The camera takes eight consecutive images that are automatically shot when shifting the sensor via the Body I.S mechanism. These images are then combined into a single RAW superior photograph. This comes in especially handy when working with natural landscapes or fine arts with subtle details needed to be captured. The user can switch to the sub mode if they wish to capture moving subjects in the scene e.g. during a catwalk.
