Like the alternative silver version of the lens, the new black variant features some of Olympus' most sophisticated optical technologies. For example, a Dual Super Aspherical lens element and the ZERO lens coating (ZUIKO Extra-low Reflection Optical) that reduces unwanted reflections. It has a fast autofocus that is near silent (thanks to Olympus MSC technology), and a special snapshot mechanism that lets you release the shutter without taking your eye off your subject, simply by pulling back the focus ring. Distance and depth indicators ensure there's no need to glance down at the screen.
