The Nikon SB-910 is Nikon's flagship speedlight for enthusiasts and professionals and is designed for FX and DX-format D-SLRs and Coolpix P7000 series cameras. This high performance flashgun features i-TTL (intelligent through-the-lens) flash control, a wide 17-200mm auto zoom (same as the SB-900), Manual with Power Ratio, three illumination patterns for specific shooting environments and an improved interface with illuminated buttons for control. The SB-910 can operate as a hot shoe mounted speedlight, remote unit or wireless commander capable of controlling as many as three remote groups (A, B and C) and an unlimited number of SB-910, SB-900, SB-700 or SB-R200 units.
Key Features:
Professional i-TTL (intelligent TTL) Speedlight
Compatible with FX- and DX-format SLR cameras. Part of the Nikon Creative Lighting System, it offers total control over flash coverage.
Centre-weighted, Even and Standard illumination patterns
Centre-weighted mode concentrates illumination to the centre of the frame, useful when using a telephoto lens. Even mode diffuses light evenly across the frame, useful when taking group shots. Standard mode offers a standard balance of power and light distribution.
17-200mm auto zoom range
Offers a 14mm zoom range when using built-in diffuser or Speedlight dome.
Intuitive operation
Boasts a large LCD screen, clear menu systems, conveniently placed controls and illuminated buttons that offer more comfortable operation in low light.
Automatic detection of sensor format
Automatically recognises FX- or DX-format cameras.
High-speed
Recycling time of 2.3 seconds when using LR6 NiMH batteries.
AF-Assist illumination
Compatible with Multi-CAM 3500 FX/DX AF sensor module.
Bounce capability
Rotates 180° horizontally to the right and left; tilts up to 90° and down to 7°.
Thermal protection system
Warns of excessive heat build up during high intensity firing.
Hard-type incandescent and fluorescent colour filters included.
Automatic filter detection
Speedlight automatically adjusts the attached camera's color temperature settings according to the color of the filter being used.
Firmware
Can be upgraded via the storage media in the attached camera.
- Multiple Flash Exposure Modes

- M Manual Flash
Advanced Thermal Protection
Advanced thermal protection system slows the flash recycle time, rather than simply shutting down to prevent overheating
Bounce Capability
Flash head tilts down to 7° or up to 90° with click-stops at -7°, 0°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°.
Flash head rotates horizontally 180° to the left and right with click-stops at 0°, 30°, 60°, 75°, 90°, 120°, 150°, 180°

i-TTL
Intelligent i-TTL system supports Advanced Wireless Lighting and versatile functions for up to 3 remote i-TTL Speedlight groups controlled through a master SB-900 or with the "Commander" function of compatible cameras.

Individual flash mode settings (TTL, AA, A and M) are available for each of the four groups (including master controller) for easy total lighting control based on the brightness of the subject and not simply on general output ratios for each group.
FV Lock
Flash Value Lock allows photographers to change the composition or zoom for the shot while maintaining desired lighting of the subject.
Distance Priority Manual Flash Mode
User can set the distance and aperture, and the SB-900 automatically sets the power output, a great feature for manual flash M shooting at weddings and for product shots.
Coloured Gels
Allows modification of flash output to match background scene, especially useful for digital cameras where "white balance" can be controlled. Included are Tungsten and Fluorescent adjustment filters.
Coluor Gel Filter Identification
Flash automatically identifies mounted color gel filters and adjusts the camera's auto white-balance setting with select Nikon digital SLR cameras.
