Nikon D610 product video
24.3 megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor
From true wide-angle to super telephoto, the 14-bit A/D conversion and excellent signal-to-noise ratio enable images of remarkable quality with low noise and wide dynamic range even at high ISO sensitivities. Offering an ISO range of 100–6400, extendable up to 25,600 (equivalent) and down to 50 (equivalent), low light capability is superb. The camera’s intelligent noise reduction systems manage noise without sacrificing fine details, allowing superb flexibility under all lighting conditions: images are crisp and clean, even at higher ISO settings.
EXPEED 3 image processing
Equipped with the same state-of-the-art EXPEED 3 image-processing engine as Nikon’s flagship D4, the Nikon D610 makes light work of data-rich tasks without sacrificing speed and quality. 16-bit image processing offers richer colours and tones than ever before, delivering smooth gradations with abundant detail and tone all the way up the scale to pure white, even when shooting in JPEG.
Enhanced continuous shooting
High speed continuous shooting at approximately 6 fps in both FX and DX formats for up to 100 shots. This makes it easy to capture decisive moments with moving subjects, such as an approaching train or a wild bird taking flight. The D610 also offers a quiet continuous shutter-release mode (Qc) for quiet continuous shooting at approximately 3 fps.
Improved Auto white balance
Greater optimisation of image analysis of the most common scenes enables Auto white balance to achieve more natural colour reproduction for images captured indoors as well as outdoors in most common scenes.
39 focus points (9 cross-type), up to f/8 compatible
Compatible with lenses up to f/8 combined open aperture sharp shots are possible even in challenging light conditions. A variety of AF-modes such as Dynamic-area AF and 3D-tracking maintain focus on even the smallest subjects, however unpredictable their movements may be.
Compact, light, durable
Despite adoption of the Nikon FX format, the D610 is a model that is portable enough to be easily taken anywhere. In addition the magnesium alloy top and rear covers reduce weight and maintains strength and durability.
Broadcast-quality video
Frame rates: Full HD (1080p) movies can be recorded in 30p, 25p and 24p, with 60p, 50p and 25p options at 720p. Full HD movie clips can be up to 29 minutes 59 seconds long. Multi-area mode: Full HD (1080p) recording is possible in both FX- and DX-based formats, enabling exceptional freedom of expression. High-fidelity audio control: with the Nikon D610 movies sound as good as they look. A microphone jack allows use of an external stereo microphone for crisp sound recording and there is an audio out for external headphones. Uncompressed HDMI output: the Nikon D610 offers the possibility to output an uncompressed live video stream at 1080p to external recorders, and output will automatically drop to 1080i if use of an external monitor is detected. The uncompressed data is output at the designated image size and frame rate, and is clean of the information overlay that can be simultaneously displayed on the camera’s TFT monitor.
Wireless transfer
Share images immediately, or control the camera remotely, using a smartphone or tablet and Nikon’s optional WU-1b Mobile Adapter.* Highly sensitive autofocus: benefit from superior subject acquisition with the Multi-CAM4800 39-point AF system. Compatible with lenses up to f/8 combined open aperture and sensitive down to -2 EV, the D610 shoots sharp, even under the light of the full moon.
* Compatible with iOS and Android smart devices. Requires use of a dedicated Wireless Mobile Utility application that can be downloaded to your smart device for free from Google Play and the Apple App Store.
In-camera time-lapse function
Create time-lapse photography through simple menu operations, with no need for elaborate calculations and editing. Use interval timer shooting to trigger the shutter at preset intervals. Use time-lapse photography to save images as movie files and view slow action in fast playback, with playback rates from 24 to 36,000 times faster than normal.
Dual-axis electronic virtual horizon
You can confirm the camera's position relative to the horizontal plane and its pitch (forward or rear rotation) using the LCD monitor or the viewfinder.
Built-in flash commander function enables a variety of creative lighting
Furthermore, the built-in flash incorporates a commander function that supports Advanced Wireless Lighting. It can control a single group or two independent groups containing several remote Speedlights wirelessly. By lighting from a wide range of directions, you can enjoy shooting with a variety of lights, for example, shooting flowers vividly, rendering face lines and details sharply and reproducing the subtle textures of subjects.
