Advanced hybrid AF
Nikon’s trailblazing hybrid AF system uses 171 autofocus points to rapidly lock onto your subject. The system instantly switches between 105 phase-detection AF points and fast contrast-detect AF. Phase-detection AF spots movement at breakneck speed. Contrast-detect AF extends to the edge of the frame so you can focus sharply on peripheral subjects, even in low light.

Superior ergonomics

The camera’s clean, simple design and perfect spacing between dials ensures controls are easy to reach so that you can shoot without taking your eye off your subject. Tiltable touchscreen monitor
The responsive 7.5-cm (3.0-in.), 1037k-dot LCD monitor enables clear operation even when the monitor is tilted. Go low for extreme action shots, or easily shoot from a high vantage point thanks to the 86-degree reverse angle. Tilt the monitor up 180 degrees and use Self-portrait mode to soften skin or set the Self-timer. NFC & Wi-Fi enabled
Sharing impressive Nikon 1 photos via a smart device has never been easier. Simply touch the Nikon 1 J5 with an NFC (Near Field Communication)-compatible smart device and you can transfer the image that’s showing on the camera’s LCD screen. To transfer photos to your smart device via Wi-Fi, simply press the camera’s dedicated Wi-Fi button5. Live Image Control

Use Creative Palette to apply artistic, studio-quality filters simply by sliding the touchscreen wheel to achieve the look you want. Creative Mode
Get creative with popular effects for stills and movies. Go back in time with Retro, be artistic in black-and-white with the moody High Contrast Monochrome, add some zing with Pop, or fit the whole scene in with Panorama. There are 14 effects to choose from in total, and you can access five scene modes that automatically optimise camera settings for portraits, landscapes and close-ups.
