The Lecia CL digital camera has a minimalist yet functional design. The camera is ultra-compact and lightweight which few external controls, yet it's intuitive and capable fo capturing stunning stills and video. Internally, the camera features a potent combination of a powerful 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and a Maestro II image processor. This pairing helps to produce high-resolution stills at up to 10fps and UHD 4K/30p video, as well as offering an ISO sensitivity range of 100-50000, allowing you to confidently shoot in a range of shooting conditions. The CL is also equipped with an electronic shutter which offers silent operation with shutter speeds up to 1/25000 sec, and to complement this, a 49-point contrast-detection autofocus system provides lightning-fast and accurate performance. No Compromise on Image Quality

Many photographers have a preconceived notion that APS-C equals lower quality. This is not the case and is reductive. The CL may have an APS-C sensor but that sensor is still equipped with 24 megapixels, and further to this is the camera's pairing with Leica lenses which provide the highest level of detail and quality. This camera can as easily be your main camera as it can be a B-camera to accompany your main camera e.g. The Leica SL Digital Camera.

So, the 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor is accompanied by Leica's powerful Maestro II processor which helps to produce impressively high-resolution and clear stills. This system also provides a native ISO sensitivity range from ISO 100-50000, as well as a continuous shooting rate of 10 fps for up to 33 DNG+JPEGs or 140 JPEGs. The mechanical shutter offers versatile shutter speeds up to 1/8000 sec, and flash sync to 1/180 sec, all whilst the silent electronic shutter can be used to reach a top speed of 1/25000 sec. In addition, the pairing of this sensor and processor enables UHD 4K video recording at 30 fps, along with Full HD at 60 fps and HD at 30 fps.

Lightning-Fast AF

Well established by Leica is their impressive autofocus acquisition. The Lecia CL ensures tack-sharp images across the board with thanks to an advanced 49-point contrast-detection autofocus system. This system provides lightning-fast focus acquisition and will maintain focus whilst shooting in a range of lighting and shooting conditions. This, of course, works seamlessly with the wide range of Leica L-Mount lenses available for use with this camera.

The Leica L-Bayonet Mount

The choice to fit the Leica CL with the Leica L-bayonet mount means that you have the option to use and utilise the full functionality of both full-frame SL and APS-C TL-series lenses. That means you can take advantage of incredibly fast autofocus, electronic aperture control and optical image stabilisation, all of which contribute to stunning high-quality images.

What's more, the L-mount accepts a variety of adapters. This means you can take advantage of the likes of the M-Adapter L which provides you with access to the entire M-mount series of lenses. In addition, there are Leica adapters for the S, R, and Cine series too; again, offering an even wider choice of Leica lenses to use.

Leica Logic

As with any Leica camera body, the design is intelligent and well thought out. First of all, this camera features a magnesium alloy body with milled and anodised aluminium top and bottom covers. This construction makes this camera impressive lightweight but durable. The camera is surprisingly compact, but not so much that it comprises the addition of useful features. The overall build is simple with few external controls - there are two dials with centre buttons for simple setting adjustments and a four-way directional pad on the rear for selecting focus.

The Lecia CL body is equipped with an advanced built-in electronic viewfinder that has a 2.36m-dot resolution and 0.74x magnification. The EVF is located in the top right corner of the camera that is reminiscent of classic range finder cameras. It also has an adjustable manual +/-4m diopter to suit different visions strengths. The rear of the camera features a 3.0" 1.04m-dot touch LCD which offers intuitive navigation of settings as well as offering image review. Finally, there's a useful status LCD located on top for monitoring settings.

Yes! The CL has Wi-Fi which allows you to wirelessly connect iOS and Android devices. You can use this to easily share images and videos with your friends and family.
