As expected from all Leica SL lenses, this lens features the very same advanced optical structure that enables exceptional image-quality in every frame. The elaborate optical design is made up of 19 specially formulated, high-quality glass lens elements arranged into 15 groups, three of which feature aspherical surfaces on both sides. Nine of the specialist-glass elements feature Leica's anomalous partial dispersion technology provide effective chromatic correction through the 24-70mm focal range, and as a result even highlights are free of colour fringing.
The optical design is complimented by an 11-bladed diaphragm and a constant maximum of f2.8 that provides impressive low-light performance. But it's not just being able to continue shooting when it gets darker - This versatile aperture allows you to use faster shutter speeds in lower light as well as having enhanced and more expressive control over depth-of -field. As a result, you can create a dramatic sense of depth and separation between your subject and the background, and this is particularly effective with this lens and its minimum focusing distance of 18cm.
Autofocus
This lens exhibits a Leica Dual Syncro Drive which adds to the versatility and flexibility of this lens. This drive, combined with Leica's advanced control algorithms, helps to provide a focus from infinity to the 18cm closest focusing distance at incredible speed which in turn helps you capture each and every shot without failure. Aiding this speed is the lightweight glass lens elements that because of their weight and precise engineering, will focus almost silently which is perfect for those occasions where discretion is paramount. Finally, there's an eye-detection function that has been developed to provide in-sharp portraiture, even if you're the constant f2.8 aperture to capture a shallow depth of field.

The Buy Now Pay Later option comprises a 36 month loan following a six month deferral period.
During the six-month deferral period, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is partially repaid within six months, the remaining interest will be adjusted to reflect the new balance. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, however, a £29 early settlement fee is payable in respect of repayments within these six months.
Following the six-month deferral period, Novuna Personal Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan.
