Ultra-Wide-Angle
The Laowa 9mm f2.8 Zero-D Lens is a seriously exciting prime lens that provides a 13.5mm equivalent focal length. The bright f2.8 maximum aperture is also well-suited to low and tricky lighting conditions. These could include cityscape photography at dusk, architectural photography where the interior space is poorly lit, or extended landscape shooting where the light is beginning to fade.
Further to this, its rectilinear design minimises subject distortion and accurately captures straight lines in an image, ideal for landscape and architectural photography. In addition, three extra-low dispersion elements minimise chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour neutrality. Two aspherical elements further limit spherical aberration for an even sharper image.
Purposeful Design
By adding a Frog Eye Coating to the 9mm f2.8 Zero-D, you can venture further afield due to its ability to repel dust and moisture. Alongside a smooth manual focus design offering a minimum focus distance of 12cm, this lens incorporates a built-in petal-shaped lens hood to shield stray light - reducing flare and ghosting. It also acts to protect the front element of the lens from accidental damage.

FAQs:
How small is the lens?
The lens measures 60 x 53mm and only weighs 215g.
What does ‘Rectilinear Optics' mean?
Rectilinear optics describe the ability of a specialised lens to remove optical distortion - a common issue with wide-angle lenses at infinity focus. This means that little to no barrel or pincushioning will occur, and lines that may have been warped/fish-eyed become straightened.
