The lens sees a complex lens structure that includes both Apochromatic and low dispersion glass elements that deliver pin-sharp images and effectively eliminate any chromatic aberrations.

Maximum 2:1 Magnification

Most 100mm macro lenses in the market are only able to reproduce a 1:1 magnification ratio. Whereas this lens has an extended 2x magnification. This additional magnification allows more detail to be seen and therefore captured through the lens. This unique lens characteristic combined with the advanced lens structure results in stunningly detailed macro photographs and provides you with the option to capture your subject at different sizes.

Lens Construction

The lens has an advanced and complex lens structure that is comprised of 12 glass elements in 10 groups. This includes high-quality apochromatic optical elements and low dispersion glass which eliminates chromatic aberrations and colour fringing. The Apochromat APO design is what ensures that chromatic aberrations (CA) found in both in-focus & out-of-focus area (Longitudinal CA) are effectively eliminated. This design will provide you with higher-quality in-camera images which result in less time spent in post-production.

How do you use a macro lens?

Can this lens be used on a crop sensor?

Whilst you can use this lens on crop sensors (Canon, Nikon and Sony options), it’s not advised as this lens is designed for use on full-frame cameras.

The lens hood is primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
