The front-facing hub features a USB 3.2 Gen2 port for charging phones and even transferring data from them. There are memory card slots for CFexpress Type B, CFast 2.0 and SD Cards, so you can offload files from cameras, drones and other devices. For versatile display options, there are dual Thunderbolt ports and a DisplayPort 1.4. This allows daisy-chaining of up to five additional Thunderbolt devices or one USB-C device, and outputs to 8K, 30fps or 4K, 120fps monitors.

Adaptable RAID Configurations

The LaCie RAID Manager allows users to configure the drives in their 2big Dock v2 into different RAID levels for optimising the hard drive for whatever task is at hand. Working with RAID 0 is best for performance, as the drives act like one big drive that enables maximum speed and capacity. RAID 1 configuration, or Mirror Mode, makes the drives mirror each other so the data is the same - meaning if one fails you have a backup. The 2big Dock v2 can also be configured into JBOD for ultimate flexibility. This lets each drive function independently so you have separate drives housed within one large hard drive.

Is the 2big Dock compatible with Thunderbolt 2?

You can still use the 2Big Dock with an older Thunderbolt 2 Mac by purchasing a separately sold Apple Thunderbolt (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter.
