High-End Optical Performance

To complement the X2D and other X system cameras, Hasselblad has produced a line of new lenses, including the 38mm XCD lens. This wide-angle lens is versatile enough for indoor and outdoor photojournalism. It has a premium construction of 10 elements in 9 groups with 3 aspheric elements that help reduce chromatic aberration and other optical aberrations.

The large f2.5 aperture makes this lens suitable for low-light conditions and for capturing stunning images with a shallow depth of field. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m, photographers can get up close to objects for capturing the smallest details in crystal-clear clarity - especially when the lens supports 100MP image resolution.

Quietly Powerful Shutter

With an upgraded leaf shutter, the XCD can reach shutter speeds of up to 1/2000S. The leaf shutter design also delivers flash synchronisation at all speeds and makes less noise compared to traditional shutter designs. Distortion of moving objects is reduced as a result of the shutter opening from the centre outwards. Going hand-in-hand with the newly designed focusing module, the shutter helps the XCD lens in delivering quick and accurate focusing.

Configurable and Streamlined Design

Hasselblad has designed a compact lens that still allows practical personalisation. This XCD lens has both a focus ring and lens control ring to let photographers adapt to different situations on the fly. The lens control ring can be customised so you can quickly access preferred functions in fast-paced shoots. Changing between AF and MF has never been easier - simply pull or push the focus ring to switch between the two modes. These features are packed into a stylish and lightweight body that won’t affect handheld shooting but stands out with its looks.
