Output and Versatility

The maximum power of the lamp is 200Ws, and this guarantees a comfortable range of subjects that a photographer can capture in the photo studio. The light isn’t just suitable for portraits; you can also use it for still life or product photography. Thanks to the modern design and active cooling elements, the charging speed is less than 1 second at full flash power.

The flash energy setting range is up to 6 f-stops, meaning that when shooting portraits with a shallow depth of field, it is possible to set a low flash output while allowing the flash to produce enough light when needed. This range will enable you to use a tightly closed aperture for a considerable depth of field.

Ease of Use

The rear of the flash gun features an easy-to-read, backlit LCD screen which shows the main operating parameters. Changing the flash energy settings or the pilot light mode is done with a rotary wheel and two buttons, making it intuitive and easy to master. The Vega 200 pilot light can operate in a method related to the flash energy we set, but it can also be permanently on at full power or off, it provides continuous light, giving an idea of the quality of the flash before firing. These added features for ease of use mean you will have learnt the device operations in no time.

Mounts and Modifiers

The Vega 200 comes fitted with a Bowens connector which allows the use of a wide range of light-converting accessories. You can use soft boxes of different sizes and shapes, canopies, fluxes, gates, and beauty dish attachments, to help you craft creative and necessary lighting. In addition, the Vega 200 can also be used with umbrellas and tripods thanks to the integrated mount.

With a weight of just 1.15kg, the Vega 200 is compact and light enough for easy storage and transportation between shooting locations. Its plastic casing and LED technology make the housing compact for ease of use.

Can the GlareOne Vega 200 be controlled remotely?

Whilst it is possible to control the Vega 200 remotely, this product does not include the components needed. The Vega 200 has a built-in receiver that communicates with the GlareOne Flash RC transmitter (sold separately). This transmitter allows the flash dimensions to be set remotely without going to the unit, saving time and improving workflow.
