Premium Optics
The Fujifilm GF 55mm f1.7 R WR Lens owes its outstanding resolution and detail-rich results to its advanced optical structure. With 14 elements arranged into 10 groups, including 2 Aspherical and 2 Extra-Low Dispersion elements, this lens delivers high image-resolving power. Fujifilm has produced each aspherical element using a mould with a 1/100,000th of a millimetre tolerance. Thanks to this precision, the aspherical elements successfully minimise the onion-ring effect. One aspherical element is positioned just behind the aperture ring to control spherical aberration, whilst the second is closer to the lens mount to control rays of light and achieve edge-to-edge sharpness. Fujifilm also includes high-refractive elements, commonly used in cinema lenses, at the front and throughout the focusing group to further reduce aberration. This design choice allows the lens to maintain advanced image-resolving power regardless of changing focusing positions.
