Want to take portraits and macro shots with beautiful, professional-looking background blur? The X-A3's large sensor helps you to take shots with a shallow depth of field - perfect for new profile pics or Instagram-friendly photos.
The camera's also designed for shooting in low light situations: its normal sensitivity range covers ISO200 to ISO6400, and can be extended all the way up to ISO25600.
Even when shooting at those high ISOs the X-A3 produces clear images with astonishingly little noise: low-light nightscapes and indoor shots are no problem for Fujifilm's newest.
180º slide/tilt touchscreen LCD
The XA-3 might be a mirrorless, but a clever screen mechanism makes it into a mirror of a different kind... On the camera's rear you’ll find a touchscreen with a secret: yes, it slides out to make shooting from tricky angles easier, but this screen can also tilt up through a full 180 degrees until the entire screen is visible from the front of the camera.
The screen makes the X-A3 absolutely perfect for composing selfies or group shots - even if you're resting the camera on a bookcase or tripod. Moving the LCD screen into this forward-facing position also automatically activates Eye Detection AF, so you can be sure any eyes in shot will be pin-sharp in pictures.
You can also use the touchscreen to make three-step adjustments in Portrait Enhancer mode - and the new skin-tone brightening function takes your portrait photography to the next level.
Full 1080p video recording
More into moviemaking? The X-A3 has its own Video Recording button so you can quickly start recording full HD video.
Fujifilm's legendary Film Simulation filters, most often used for still images, can also be applied to video for a whole range of creative effects - combine this with the smooth bokeh from the APS-C sensor and fast lens and you're on to winning pictures every time.
If you're worried about camera shake during filming, turn on the X-A3's image stabilisation and you get five-axis optical and electronic stabilisation - significantly reducing any wobbles caused by hand-holding the camera.
WiFi enabled - direct connect to smartphones and Instax SHARE printer
It's 2016 so of course, the X-A3's WiFi ready: just download the free Fujifilm Camera Remote app to your smartphone or tablet and you'll be able to transfer photos and videos across with just one touch and no complicated passwords. Use the Remote Shoot function to use your phone to focus and trigger the camera - you can also adjust exposure and other settings without touching the X-A3 at all.
This feature's extremely handy for group photos, self-portraits or even wildlife photography - any situation where you need to compose your shot from a distance. And when you’re ready to print, your images can also be sent straight to Fujifilm's Instax SHARE printer for instant prints of your best photos.
Unique film simulation and advanced shooting modes
Fujifilm's famous for its film heritage and the company's colour reproduction technology is second to none: you can expect accurate, warm skin tones, clear blue skies and lush green foliage every single time you press the shutter.
If you feel like getting a little more creative, the X-A3 has eleven of Fuji's legendary Film Simulation filters so you can try the true-to-life colours of Provia, the vibrant tones and saturated colours of Velvia, the soft tones of Astia or documentary-style tones of Classic Chrome - all digital, and all available at the touch of a button.
The X-A3's ten Advanced Filters (Fisheye, Cross Screen, Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Colour, Soft Focus, High Key, Low Key and Partial Colour) are also tucked away in the camera's menu - so now you've got no excuse to not get creative with your pictures...
Enhanced AF modes
Switch the focus lever on the front of the X-A3 and you can instantly flick between AF-S (single), AF-C (continuous focus) and MF (manual focus). If you're taking pictures of something complex, you can switch to Single Point mode and choose between 49 different focus areas.
If your subject's on the move, try out Zone and Wide / Tracking modes - these use the camera's extra, 77-point focus areas to capture fast-moving subjects as they dart across your field of view.
