A Linear Motor For Fast and Quiet Autofocus
This lens has a fast and near silent autofocus that is thanks to the inner focusing system. Fujifilm reduced the weight of the focus lens and mounted a Twin Linear Motor that makes the high-speed, quiet autofocus possible. When used on bodies such as the Fujifilm X-Pro3 or Fujifilm X-T3, the lens can provide accurate autofocus acquisition as quick as 0.06 seconds! Of course, this autofocus is very quiet and with a near-silent shutter sound, you're able to take photos unnoticed in quiet locations.
Classic High Quality Fujifilm Build
If you've used Fujifilm X Mount Lenses, or Fujifilm Camera Bodies for that matter, then you know that a high quality finish is guaranteed. This lens is no exception to that continued quality. The lens has a full metal exterior as well as having both metal focus and aperture rings and whilst heavier that some other XF lenses, such as the Fujifilm 18-55mm f2.8-4, it has a great feel and balance to the lens. The AF+MF switch on the lens enables seamless manual focusing. Half depress the shutter to autofocus on the subject and then fine adjustments can then be made using the manual focus ring.
Versatile and Flexible
This lens is weather-resistant, dust-resistant and can operate down to -10°C. This means that you can use this lens without worrying about the functionality of the lens itself. This ultimately means that you are not limited in where you can take this lens and take your photographs. Furthermore, we mentioned that this lens is suitable for quiet locations due to the quiet autofocus but it is also a great lens in low light conditions thanks to that constant f2.8 aperture.
