Optical Performance

The Celestron RASA EQ Telescope is built-in with rare-earth glass optics and an f2.2 focus system for high-resolution images that are free from field curvature and coma aberrations. Providing a powerful performance to the astronomers and stargazers, this telescope has a 43.3 image circle, optimised enough to focus on the pin-pointed stars. Its high-quality optics with 279 mm aperture also minimise vignetting. The telescope has a 620 mm focal length that helps produce wide-field images and survey the night sky. Its 52 mm usable field provides high format sensors, while the USFS minimises mirror flops and image shifts.

CGX Equatorial Mount

By attaching the mount to the telescope, the load capacity reaches 25 kg, making it easy for the astronomers to connect high-end DSLRs and CCD cameras. The CGX mount features a heavy-duty belt-drive system that reduces backlashes and provides seamless motor operation. It includes home sensors for the mount to start at the index position after a power reset and limit sensors to automatically shut off the tracking before it reaches the hard stop fail safe. A bubble level is also integrated for smooth and precise levelling.

It features 5 cm steel legs integrated with height index marks for precise and smooth levelling. These legs can be easily collapsed with the accessory tray for a quick transport/setup. The tripod has two handles for smooth transport/handling and a latitude adjuster with an easy-to-read latitude scale for quick polar alignment adjustment. Its ergonomic dovetail clamping knobs are used for smooth tripod positioning under full loads. The tripod features an azimuth adjustment with Teflon bearings for safe angle adjustments and a fixed latitude knob with a linkage system for minimum friction during polar alignment.
