Canon has unveiled the PowerShot G9 X Mark II, a slim, stylish compact camera sporting a 1.0 type sensor
The Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II is a fully connected compact camera that the firm bills as an ideal smartphone companion.
Its 1.0-type CMOS sensor with 20.1MP of resolution and its bright f/2.0-4.9 lens ensure that it is able to capture crisp, detailed images, while the DIGIC 7 processor enables fast operational speeds, including a maximum burst rate of 8.2 fps.
The camera can be controlled via the Lens Control Ring, the simple button layout or the 3-inch touchscreen on the rear.
Canon has also included its Dual Sensing IS technology, which the firm says will provide up to 3.5 stops of image stabilisation, expanding low-light shooting possibilities.
The G9 X Mark II can also shoot Full HD 60p movies, and allows for full creative control using Manual Movie mode. The 5-axis Advanced Dynamic IS works with the Dual Sensing IS to ensure steady handheld movies, and a variety of preset movie modes allow you to instantly shoot short clips and edit shots together.
Connecting the G9 X Mark II to a compatible smart device such as a phone or tablet is simple – it can be done with one tap using Dynamic NFC, and then maintained via Bluetooth. The Canon Camera Connect app allows for remote control of camera operations or instant image sharing and backup.
