SIGMA Reveals 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM Art

SIGMA has added a new full-frame lens to its Art range, the 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM. Following the 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM prime, released in 2017, SIGMA is calling this latest optic the definitive wide-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom, maintaining a wide f/2.8 aperture throughout its zoom range.

This premium lens is dust- and splash-proof, and is compatible with SIGMA, Nikon and Canon DSLRs (and is compatible with Canon’s Lens Aberration Correction function). Designed to be paired with sensors of 50MP and higher, the 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM is constructed from three FLD and three SLD glass elements, and three aspherical lens elements (one being large-diameter). The product is a lens that minimises optical aberrations for significantly increased image quality.

SIGMA has also announced what it’s calling its Front Conversion Service. The company will convert the 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM’s petal hood to an exclusive round component, which should prove particularly useful for multi-camera VR. Exactly when this service will be available has not yet been confirmed.
