The new Fujifilm GF lenses for the firm’s GFX 50S medium format camera include a 110mm f/2 and a 23mm f/4
Announced today, the FUJINON GF110mmF2 R LM WR Lens and FUJINON GF23mmF4 R LM WR Lens are two ultra-high resolution lenses designed to fully realise the potential of the Fujifilm GFX 50S medium format camera.
The FUJINON GF110mmF2 R LM WR Lens is a medium telephoto lens for portraits, offering a focal length equivalent to 87mm in 35mm equivalent terms.
Fuji promises the lens will produce both dazzling bokeh and superbly high-resolution images, with minimal aberrations. It is constructed of 14 elements in nine groups, and its body is resistant to dust and light rain.
The aperture ring features a “C” position, which transfers aperture control to the camera’s command dial.
The GF23mmF4 R LM WR Lens offers a focal length equivalent to 18mm in 35mm format, and thus is designed for super-wide-angle landscapes and architecture.
Fujifilm says the lens will deliver low distortion and high resolving power, thanks to its 12-group, 15-element construction which includes a number of aspherical and ED elements.
The optical arrangement of the internal Super ED lens and three ED lenses means chromatic aberration is thoroughly suppressed. In layman’s terms, this means edge-to-edge sharpness.
Like its bigger brother, the 23mm will have a fast and quiet AF system that uses a linear motor. It also has dust- and weather-sealing and the “C” option for the aperture dial.
The two lenses are expected in June.
