Hollywood Look

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera offers its users professional features needed to create a feature film, television program or a documentary. In order to preserve the dynamic range digital film cameras shoot logarithmic colourspace. This is fantastic for post-production, however when these files are viewed on a monitor they can look quite flat. The 3D LUTs has been implemented in order to solve this problem. 3D LUTs allow for the application of a ‘look' to the monitor so that the user can get an idea of how the finished film will look like when editing. The user has the freedom to apply LUTs temporarily for monitoring only. Alternatively they can be recorded into the Blackmagic RAW files for use in post-production. Lightweight Carbon Fibre Polycarbonate Composite

There is an astonishing amount of high-end digital film features that fit into this elegant, compact, and handheld design. The camera is made out of lightweight carbon fibre polycarbonate composite and it features a multifunction handgrip with all the necessary controls for recording. These include; ISO, WB as well as shutter angle. Since this is an advanced digital camera it features a sensor that is designed to reduce thermal noise. This allows for cleaner shadows and higher ISO. In addition to this the large 5 inch LCD makes it possible to obtain the perfect focus at both 4K and 6K resolutions respectively. Multifunction Grip with Fingertip Controls

High Resolution Cinematic Digital Film Sensor

The 6K model offers a native resolution of 6144 x 3456 as well as 13 stops of dynamic range, and dual native ISO up to 25,600 for stunning low noise images in all lighting conditions. In addition to this the 6K model's much bigger Super 35 sensor allows shooting with a shallow depth of field and anamorphic lenses. The user can shoot up to 60 fps in full resolution or 120 fps windowed. The sensor can be combined with the latest Blackmagic Generation 4 Colour Science in order to get the same imaging technology as Blakmagic's most expensive digital film cameras.

Compatible with Cinema and Photographic Lenses

This pocket camera comes with an EF lens mount making it compatible with lenses that are already owned by the user. These can be from other cameras such as DSLRs. Commonly available photographic lenses that provide incredible creative choice and wonderful feature film quality lens effects are also compatible. The active lens mount allows the user to adjust focus and iris from the buttons on the camera or the touch screen. The MFT lens mount on the 6K model can be adapted to PL, C, EF or other lens types providing the user with even more flexibility.

Shoot Incredible High Dynamic Range (HDR) Images

Thanks to the incredible 13 stops of dynamic range the user can set exposure for an indoor scene, for example a dinner scene, whilst retaining the details of bright outdoor light coming through a window. The user can acquire even more colours than the standard DCI-P3 colourspace used for feature films. To help aid the colour correction process DaVinci Resolve Studio software is included with the camera for total creative freedom with full exposure adjustment and recovery controls when colour grading.

Dual Gain ISO for Exceptional Low Light Performance

Thanks to the dual gain ISO of up to 25,600 the 6K model is optimized to minimize grain or noise in images, while at the same time maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor. This is ideal for shooting night-time scenes. The gain is set automatically as the user adjust the ISO setting on the camera, making it easy to capture great images when there's little time to set up the lighting. This makes the Blackmagic Pocket Camera perfect for fast-paced guerrilla documentary filmmaking.

Blackmagic RAW

Blackmagic RAW is a new revolutionary format designed to capture and preserve the quality of the sensor data from the camera. Blackmagic RAW eliminates the problem of the original sensor detail being lost forever. Instead it produces stunning images with incredible detail and colour throughout the production process. In addition to this it saves camera settings as metadata so that the user can set ISO, white balance and exposure in camera or override them later while editing. This can all be achieved without any loss of quality.

Blackmagic OS is an advanced, modern operating system where all camera features run independently to offer smoother control. In addition to this the camera powers on almost instantly. Professional Connections for Custom Rigs

There is a wide range of connections for audio, monitoring, power and much more which come with this camera including a full size HDMI connector for monitoring with support for HDR and clean 10-bit output. The user can connect a HDMI display or television for on set monitoring. This can be achieved with or without overlays that show critical information in addition to camera status. Mini XLR connection with 48 volt phantom power is also included for attaching professional microphones, a 3.5 mm video camera style microphone input, headphone connection, and a professional locking DC power connector. There is no need to carry a separate sound recorder thanks to the professional, high fidelity audio recording that is built into the camera. Featuring a mini XLR input with 48 volts of phantom power the user can connect professional microphones such as lapel mics and booms to the camera. The four built in microphones offer exceptionally low noise floor. They are also shock and wind resistant allowing the user to capture remarkable sound in virtually any location. USB-C for Recording Direct to External Media Disks

The user can connect external accessories such as a flash drive to increase the recording time thanks to the innovative and high speed USB-C Expansion Port. It operates at up to 5 Gb/ s and is available on most new computers. It's so handy it even provides power. Shooting 6K in the highest constant quality 12-bit Blackmagic RAW or at high frame rates is possible thanks to the user being able to connect a high speed external disk to the camera. When shooting is complete the user can simply move the external disk to the computer and start the post production process from the same disk, essentially eliminating file copying.

Built-In Timecode Generator

The built-in timecode generator allows the user to shoot with more than one camera while keeping them in perfect sync. By simply plugging in an external timecode generator, such as Tentacle Sync, into the 3.5 mm audio jack the camera will automatically detect timecode and lock the internal generator. When each camera start and stop recording the shots from all cameras, they will have the same matched timecode. The use of multi-cam is further made more convenient thanks to the new DaVinci Resolve 16.1 which will automatically find and sync the shots from all cameras.

Shoot Still Frames up to 21.2 Megapixels

This camera isn't only for filmmakers. It can take high-res still images of up to 21.2 megapixels. These images are saved as fully uncompressed DNG frames for maximum image quality, making this camera ideal for the creation of professional prints.
