Blackmagic HyperDeck Studio Series Expanded Key Features:
HyperDeck Studio HD Mini
First up is the StudioHD Mini. This miniature deck will record H.264, ProRes or DNxHD files onto SD/UHS-II cards or external USB disks in SD/HD formats to 1080p60. It offers impressive fast uploading, an integrated timecode generator, a USB3 output for recording to flash drives, as well as allow you to stack multiple units for extended or ISO recording. It has a reference generator, HD/SDI monitor outputs and 3D-SDI media slots.
HyperDeck Studio HD Plus & HD Pro
The Studio HD Plus and Pro are very similar; both improving of their predecessors with new formats, onscreen overlays, faster connectivity and new control options. Each deck has a large and intuitive front control panel and LCD for ease of use. Equally, each model includes the main features of the Studio HD Mini but also feature 6G-SDI input/output with fill/key out and can support all codecs up to 1080p60 and ProRes and DNxHD to 2160p30. The HDMI input is compatible with popular ATEM mini and multiple units can be looped for control via the reference and timecode interfaces. Where the Pro model differs is the physical layout and the addition of two SSD slots, two SD card slots and a machined metal search dial with clutch. There’s also an SDI monitor out and XLR timecode connections.
HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro
Then there’s the Studio 4K Pro. This model is physically identical to the HD Pro but it’s what’s inside that counts. The HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro is able to record uncompressed video with 10-bit 4:2:2 colour using either ProRes or DNxHD codecs, as well as the H.264 and H.265 compression formats. Thanks to the two SSD and two SD slots, the unit offers effectively endless recording - Once an SSD is full, it’ll automatically switch to the next in line, and the SD cards are hot-swappable, too! The unit features one 12G-SDI input, two 12G-SDI outputs, a loop-through 12G-SDI output and a dedicated SDI monitor output, and with that, the dual-link 12G outputs offer 4:4:4 playback capable of handling graphics overlays and H.264/H.265 file playback from computer inputs.
Other features include autodetection in each port and will adjust to the SD, HD, 6G-SDI, or 12G-SDI format input. There’s also a 3-pin XLR timecode input and output that allows you to sync timecode with other devices and allows for daisy-chaining resulting in a timecode sync chain.
