Bag inserts, also referred to as camera bag organisers, come in a range of different sizes and configurations. It’s worth checking measurements before you buy, as you need to make sure that the insert both fits in your current bag and has space for the gear you want to carry. It’s fine to keep things as small as possible though – tightly packed gear is no bad thing if it’s securely padded, as it is less likely to move around in transit.

Some manufacturers also offer smaller inserts. These are essentially camera accessories bags, designed to keep in a single place all the essential items such as camera batteries and lens hoods, that are easy to lose.
