How to use the switch on the Audio-Technica AT897 to select phantom power mode?

You don’t need to do any of that since the switch is not there for choosing power modes. It is there for the low-cut filter. If the battery is inside the mic, then there is no need to use phantom power. If there isn’t, then you can use an XLR cable (not included) to utilise the mic with phantom power.
