The Atomos Ninja V has been designed to be the ultimate HDMI Monitor/Recorder unit. It features a beautiful clear 5" IPS LCD screen that is illuminated by a bright 1000 cd/m² LED backlight, which offers uninterrupted viewing in any lighting condition. This screen also records and plays back up to DCI 4K and stores data to purpose-built mini-SSDs. It can also record Apple ProRes Raw up to DCI 4K60 directly from the sensor of select cameras. This monitor is built to stand the test of time and will withstand the nature of high-intensity film production.

Designed for Professionals

The Ninja V is the ultimate field monitor. It's designed to enhance on-the-go film and video creators who require the capture of high-quality, industry-standard codecs like ProRes and ProRes RAW. It offers a huge range of professional qualities including Apple ProRes Avid DNx, 12Gb/s HDMI 2.0 I/O connectivity, comfortable viewing of HDp240 Slow Motion HD footage.

In addition, you can benefit from 6.9sec Pre-roll, a 150 minute recording time on ITB, a TC timecode and the ability to trigger from the camera itself. Again, this unit is all about providing an enhanced and more efficient workflow whilst you're filming your scene.

4K 60p Capabilities & SSD Recording

An invaluable feature of the Ninja V is the ability to record DCI or UHD 4K at rates up to 60 fps, including 24 and 25 fps, which provides a more filmlike aesthetic. These recordings are all stored as super-high-quality Apple ProResor Avid DNxHR files with 10-bit 4:2:2 chroma subsampling.

When it comes to what your data will be stored on, you can record to standard 2.5" SSD drives or to compact AtomX SSDmini drives which offer up to 2TB storage. It's advisable to use SSDmini drives as they can offer super-fast read and write speeds (550 MB/s read & 500 MB/s write), providing you with the capture of up to 150min of 4K video on a 1TB drive.

A Bright Display

The Ninja V monitor is equipped with a 5" IPS LCD screen that is illuminated by a bright 1000 cd/m² LED backlight. This design makes it possible to view your footage without the need for a sun hood which would provide shade in bright conditions. The screen is also colour-calibrated in-factory which ensures an accurate image representation whilst viewing/monitoring footage.

As well as this, the 1920 x 1080 display offers 10+ stops of dynamic range of your camera's log image with AtomHDR. There are 10-bit colour processing and user calibration, and the monitor will even support custom LUTs to best suit your film and workflow.

Audio

Audio-wise, the Ninja V offers both input/output audio via HDMI or add external audio via the 3.5mm Line In/Mic In port. Output audio can be monitored via a convenient 3.5mm headphone port.

What cameras are compatible with this monitor?

The Atomos Ninja V is compatible with almost any HDMI or SDI source which includes Pro cameras, for example, ARRI, Canon, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, RED, Olympus, Sony, and Z-CAM.

Will the Ninja V support Anamorphic De-Squeeze?

Yes! The Ninja V supports Anamorphic de-squeeze, enabling you to accurately view anamorphic footage with 2x, 1.5x, 1.33x, or Panasonic 8:3 ratios on-the-fly.

Can you select your own markers?

By all means. The Ninja V offers a wide range of frame lines including standard versions plus 1:1, 4:5, 1:91:1, and 9:16 options.

Can you record to an SD card?

No, you cannot record to an SD Card. You can only record to approved SSD or SSD mini drives.
